Zoe Wetherall New Foilo

– posted by Kerry

Zoe and I have worked on all her folios since she left college. She is one of the hardest working young shooters I have met. Each time we get together she always has amazing new shots to show me and for us to work with to update her web site and her folio. Recently Zoe won the Capture award for Australia’s Top emerging Landscape photographer for a series she shot out of a hot air balloon in the USA, they are spectacular. Her work is constantly changing and developing and this latest folio is a knock out. Here are 3 of my favourite spreads.

Sally’s Doco

– posted by Sally

Last week Jules Tahan and Anthony Sharpe, together with myself, Kerry and my daughter Lil spent a fantastic day at The Edmund Pearce Gallery in the city.

The purpose was to start filming a short doco piece on me for a self-promotion.

Jules was the DOP and Anthony the director, Kerry assisted and Lily took a few of these behind the scene shots.

Jules had sent me a long list of questions about 3 weeks out, which was fantastic, because it gave me a good amount of time to read them and be prepared. So on the day, as Anthony asked me the questions, I knew what was coming and had an answer ready.

BUT it didn't sounded scripted and I wasn't reading auto cues.

I thought it was a fantastic way to work and I felt very confident with the whole process, so professional but lots of fun.

The only tricky part was when they decided they wanted me standing in the middle of the room, staring at the camera whilst they turned the lights out. Then they were to slowly bring me into light.

Well as you can imagine I just kept laughing, anyway I think they got it in the end laughter, snorts and all!!

There is more filming to be done, so stay tuned and I can't wait to see the final piece.

Big Boys Club Shoot with Jules Tahan.

– posted by Kerry

Jules has been mixing it up again with one of his latest shoots for Big Boys Club. The brief was to come up with some stylised hero images for use across all their advertising and promotional material.

"We decided to make it busy, loud and way over the top but a little bit quirky! I also wanted to do something a bit more illustrative than usual"

Both images were recently recognised at the Creative Asia awards in Hong Kong. One silver and one bronze.

Well done Jules and all the team!

We have seen some of Tracey Rowe’s TV work before and here’s some more. Tracey is one of my oldest friends, I studied with her at RMIT and here is one of her most recent commercials.

"I can never believe my luck, each time I get a brief for a Darbo commercial it always requires a fanciful creative challenge. These commercials are for Austria and the agency and client are always trying to produce a distinctive visual piece for their products. For this commercial it was necessary to combine various techniques to achieve a unique look. It’s wonderful having a model maker construct objects that have moving parts that you can stop frame animate. My production designer also made paper birds as a wallpaper detail, but we ended up having them fly across the wallpaper using stop frame animation. Horses, riders, dogs and tethered clouds were all custom made. Clothes and hairstyles are all customised, and the caravan was built on an inner tube of a truck tyre so that we could shake it when the hunting party galloped by. The magic of CGI  weaves it all together……. how wonderful to imagine something then have a collaborative team help you create it!"

"I'm not sure where the first six months of this year have gone, but I've been very busy and had some exciting new projects to really sink my teeth into.  My experience in photographing people, portraits, fashion, lifestyle and advertising has given me a fantastic opportunity to shoot some big campaigns for The Face Euro RSCG Advertising Agency. The re branding for La Trobe University allowed me to land my first major billboard campaign as well as these images being used on trains and entire trams running all around Melbourne. This experience has been extremely rewarding and with the fire in my belly burning red hot I am ready for more." Tess

Lachlan Moore’s New Folio

– posted by Sally

Lachlan Moore WOW , Here is a guy that began life as a graphic designer, then turned into a photographer, shot out of a prominent student in Prahran for a few years and has now, with a business partner opened up probably one of Melbourne’s premier studios , Rokeby Studios. He is unstoppable. His work is high end, mature and always beautiful. I first met him many years ago when he started out as a freelance shooter and built his first portfolio. Since then we have had varying versions, and most recently, his latest works that include amazing award winning images and a list of impressive clients. Here are 3 of my favourite spreads.
