– posted by Sally

I was totally overwhelmed by the love in the room at the launch of The Brownbill Effect!
A fabulous night bringing together so many talented people.  The enthusiasm for being involved was brilliant and I am so thankful to all those that came along made the night so memorable.
It’s all about making connections and it was a great start to what promises to be a huge year.
Stay tuned and if you haven’t checked out TBE or want to register your interest to be involved start here.

"I recently entered the 2013 International Photography Awards single-image competition, One Shot: Spaces.

This year’s theme, Spaces, asked photographers to submit work that conveys a sense of inside, outside, or the space between.

I'm very pleased to be named the 2nd Place Winner for the "Space Between" category. All the winning images can be seen here.

My work will be included in the One Shot: Spaces exhibition in April, during the 5th Annual Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA), at The Loft at Liz's located in the historic miracle mile district of Los Angeles."

Congratulations Zoe on your success, see more of Zoe's beautiful work here.

“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.” - The Mourning Bride, William Congreve

Who’s concerned about the extremities of heaven or hell anymore?
The new age torture is limbo.
It kills you softly – not any less efficiently.

Phebe Schmidt a.k.a Schmick, embodies the mood of walking that fine line alluringly in this portrait.
… Leaving me to wonder if this is perhaps the ideal state of being.

"Early in January I had the chance to fly in a hot air balloon over Melbourne with Picture This Ballooning. We flew from Yarra Bend Park to Burnley Gardens.

It was a lovely 17°C at around 7am . A very welcome change from the -7°C last year in January when I flew in a hot air balloon in the USA.

It was amazing seeing the sunrise over the city of Melbourne from the air. There aren't many places in the world where a hot air balloon can fly so close to a city. I definitely recommend it."

See more of Zoe Wetherall's fantastic aerial photography on exhibition for 3 weeks from Jan 31st to Feb 17th at Carbon Black Gallery.

The gallery is located at 188 High St, Prahran and is open Thursday to Sunday 12-5.

It's a combination of her images from the Aerial Albuquerque exhibition and Sub One Thousand exhibitions held at Edmund Pearce last year.
