The Box of Books is finally coming to Melbourne after travelling over 7 000km around the world!

What is The Photobook Club's Box of Books?

The Photobook Club was established in 2011 by Matt Johnston in London, England. Chapters have now opened in over 30 different locations across the world - and growing! The Box of Books is a collection of 7 photobooks that is travelling to each of the Photobook Club locations.

A Cinematic Screening of Documentary Photography

Now in its 10th screening season, Cross Projections is a sell out photographic event held at the Royal Australian Institute of Architects theatre, Tusculum, in Potts Point, Sydney.

Cross Projections is a multi media, cinematic screening of sixteen photographers personal essays. Their work practice encompasses social documentary and fine art photography, photojournalism, teaching, critique and exhibition.

Screenings Thursday 28th, Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November. Evening sessions 6.30pm for 7.00pm start + Saturday matinee session 30th at 3pm sharp. Tickets $20 / $15 conc.

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014

The call for entries for the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 is closing this coming Monday, 18 November 2013.

The National Photographic Portrait Prize is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers. Finalists will be announced in early December. The exhibition will be displayed at the National Portrait Gallery from 21 March to 1 June 2014 and tour to selected venues throughout 2015.

The Gallery is offering a prize of $25,000 for the most outstanding photographic portrait.

Imagined Histories - Amber McCaig at Edmund Pearce Gallery

Her work provides an insight into what it is like to live our fantasies in everyday life.

Laden with armour, treasure chests, maps and lore, these fantasies show the power of our imagination and what is possible if we dare to dream.
