The winner of the BIFB13 Portfolio Review prize:  Amber McCaig!

Congratulations Amber - her prize is the official title & the invitation to submit your folio for consideration of a place in the Core Program for BIFB15.

A little info on Amber.
Born in Melbourne, Amber graduated from Photography Studies College in Southbank in 2009.

Whilst studying, Amber gained three Silver Medals at the prestigious Canon APPA awards for professional photographers and two Silver Medals at the 2009 Victorian Student of the Year Awards.

Her domestic suburban scenes have also gained notice in the United Kingdom, where is 2009 she became a finalist in the Renaissance Photography Prize, which was judged by Magnum photographer Martin Parr. She was included in the finalist’s exhibition in London, and was published in the book of the exhibition.

Since graduating, Amber has continued her art practice with images that focus on the quirky side of life, with works featuring in the group exhibition ‘In the Kitchen Sink’ at Mars Gallery in Port Melbourne in 2010.

Most recently, Amber has completed her Bachelor Degree in Photography, producing her next major body of work titled ‘Imagined Histories’, featuring historical re-enactors.
